Surgical Anesthesia

South Shore Anesthesia Associates (SSAA) provides anesthesia services for South Shore Hospital. In 2001, more than 14,800 operations were performed at South Shore Hospital. We work together with more than one hundred surgeons on staff to provide optimal and safe conditions for each surgical procedure. We also provide anesthesia and pain management for non-operating room situations (for example, sedation for MRI and CT scans).

In most cases, two board-certified members of SSAA (an anesthesiologist and a certified registered nurse anesthetist, or CRNA) are assigned to each patient.

The associated links to the left will guide you through the anesthesia experience. If you have additional questions, please visit the FAQ page.
