Anesthesiologists
and Nurse Anesthetists are highly trained specialists with advanced
education and experience.
Anesthesiologists
are physicians who complete a four-year college program, four years
of graduate doctoral training and four more years of anesthesiology
residency. All South Shore Anesthesia Associates are board-certified
by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
or other appropriate degree, are registered nurses (RN), have at least
one year's experience in an acute care nursing setting and complete
a two-to-three year advanced nurse anesthesia program.
