Anesthesia Specialists

Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists are highly trained specialists with advanced education and experience.

Anesthesiologists are physicians who complete a four-year college program, four years of graduate doctoral training and four more years of anesthesiology residency. All South Shore Anesthesia Associates are board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other appropriate degree, are registered nurses (RN), have at least one year's experience in an acute care nursing setting and complete a two-to-three year advanced nurse anesthesia program.
